Aerial Recovery Group Spring Training Recap

Aerial Recovery Group hosted a spring training event for members of the Aerial Volunteer Corps in preparation for the upcoming 2021 hurricane season. 52 people from all over the country gathered at Montgomery State Park in Burns, TN from April 16-18 to go through emergency response training in order to prepare them for upcoming response trips during the 2021 hurricane season. Over the course of the three day event, Volunteer Corps members were taken through a number of classes including land navigation, swift water rescue, trauma response training, field medical and emergency evacuation. The Aerial Recovery Group team members, who are highly trained experts and former military special forces, ran the Volunteer Corp though these skills and assessments along with CEO Britnie Turner and trauma therapists. At the end of the weekend, all attendees received their skill level 1 certification as well as stop the bleed certification. 

 According to Turner “Aerial Recovery Group has been to many disaster zones - we’ve seen what good response looks like and we’ve seen what ineffective response looks like. At this spring training it was powerful to see people from all over the world who are passionate about helping people, grow exponentially in their craft. And by providing this critical training, we are able to equip our Volunteer Corps members to be effective emergency responders during natural disasters, teaching them the skills that are most useful in disaster zones. It's important to note that there are many ways people can be effective during disasters, whether it be understanding how to listen to someone who has just experienced a traumatic event, to helping with emergency evacuation or reroofing a house. Our wide range of training classes allowed for our members to fully understand the needs of the people during emergencies and give them the skillset and knowledge to help those who need it most.” 

 Aerial Recovery Group will continue to offer disaster response training throughout the year. Classes will be both in person and online and classes include:

• Swift Water Rescue
• Emergency Logistics Management
• Trauma Response Training levels 1-3
• Human Trafficking Identification & Reporting
• Survival School
• Mission planning
• Advanced Emergency Medical
• Situational awareness and threat analysis (active shooter situation)
• Self defense 
• Search and Rescue
